When I procrastinate, I guess I can't really complain when people don't turn around and do what I want them to do immediately, but still, I'm annoyed. _

Jobs - applied for 5 jobs, two in New York, three in Missouri. At least, I think I applied for three in Missouri. The Edison charter school web application interface doesn't indicate if each new job is merely an update, those overwriting the previous positions, or a new application. I'm hoping to hear back from someone at their office. Also, I shook a couple branches at previous posts, to see if something might come loose.

Room- vacuumed. I would say its clean, but only because I dumped everything that was piled on the floor onto the bed. Bah.

Laundry - done. I need to run and put the clothes into the dryer.

People - called. Two, at least. Although neither has called me back, and the byzantine answering service doesn't leave me with confidence.

Mood - in need of a shower, but first, I need to clean off my bed. _

Oooh, my right arm got sunburned. Nothing else did, at least, not to any degree that I really notice, but my right forearm, below the elbow and kind of around, got burnt. I don't know if I just missed putting sunscreen on that area, or if it was somehow more in the sun (when I wasn't on stage rehearsing, I used an umbrella, but it was small, and mainly covered my face, not by west facing right arm). Its not the worst burn I've ever had, but you can tell its burned. And I was being so careful, too! Foo. _

I am not sure why, but I am seriously turned off by character ruining secrets and deaths. When series try to break things up by having an established character suddenly a secret villain, or killed off, I am off put. It totally destroyed my enjoyment of the Game of Thrones series when it happened, and now I'm annoyed as they do it to TV show. I understand, from an intellectual point, why writers feel they have to do this, but God am I annoyed and distressed right now. _

Walking around earlier was like walking through a wall of steam. High heat and high humidity combine to form ugh. The temperature has dropped a little, but my room is still awfully warm. Sometimes, even having the light on seems to increase the temperature unbearable.

I find here that kelp and algae are different enough from land plants to not be considered plants at all, which is also interesting. However, it does seem that "sea weed" is, probably, older than most land plants, which is really what I was most curious about. _

Tectonic Plate Theory is fascinating. I just learned that the continents, like every else, bounce when they hit something (like another continent). As near as I can tell, they've been bouncing around the surface of the world for the last 3 billion years, every since the creator decided to play billiards with the supercontinent of Vaalbara. Pangaea, in fact, is only the most recent supercontinent to exist, not, as I had heretofore believed the first and only.

(This all came out, by the way, because I was trying to find whether the earliest plant life in the oceans was more deciduous or coniferous, although I realize those aren't really the best terms.) _

Ocean animals are strange and weird. Although some are cute, like sea otters, and baby squid (very adorable). And others, just bizarre. Like baby jellyfish. The pop off rolls like Dixie Cups. Very odd.

REVENGE! Actually, I'm not sure about the article's final point. Anecdotally, at least, I have heard that many people, victims, when witnessing the state execute a person, often come away very conflicted and unhappy. (See this account of the execution of Timothy McVeigh) _

For me, being PC was always about being polite. Don't be rude to people, take care and consideration for their thoughts and feelings. Extending courtesy to others, which meant trying to understand them, would make "PC" obsolete. I think Ta-Nahisi Coates makes some very good points about being PC here. Check it out. _

Had my interview this morning. It went well, had a nice chat with the principal. Hope to hear in the next week. Got another tour of the building, which was in great shape with a nice stage and an actual classroom(!), and the town seemed nice, if small.

Also, in the mail when I got back was my actual diploma! Yay!

I did about 7.8 or 8 miles today on the bike. Not consecutively, but the first 5 were all at once. There's a lot to enjoy about riding a bike, but when you are going up a hill, a long hill, its hard to think of anything except "keep breathing."

Important to remember, surely. _

Google Maps has been bent to my will! Mwahahaha!

Also, the total distance, assuming I remembered all the little twists and turns I took, is closer to 8 miles, which Google Maps tells me would take about 2.5 hours to walk. When I go tomorrow, I will actually try to plan out an 8 mile route, and see how long that takes. _

I went for a bike ride today. Rode for a little under an hour (my goal was an hour, and I was out for an hour, but between some minor bike maintenance issues and waiting for lights and things, it is probably closer to 50-55 minutes.) It rained, off an on, although I am so out of shape that it didn't really make any difference, except for being cooler. I'm trying to figure out how far I traveled in that time, but Google maps is having trouble with circling blocks and doubling back, and I'm getting frustrated. I think it probably is over 5 miles, but that's a guess.

I also walked the dog and did dishes, but other than that, not a productive day. I have a toastmasters meeting here in a little while, so I should shower quickly, and then run over to Office Max and fax some things off. _
